There's a story that dates back to at least the 80s that a guest (no, not me) at some hotel attached some sort of trapeze to a sprinkler head over the bed for the purpose of some sort of . . . um . . . amorous activity, leading to flooding and significant damage to the room . . .


One of the foreign students in my old dorm thought it was ok to put hangers on a sprinkler (no idea why since it was 8 feet up and in the middle of her ceiling). The whole 12 story dorm got evacuated. So, I guess it is a problem.
