Superhero Safety

Adam sent this in with his own explanation:

I sat by the emergency door on a flight returning from Seattle, this week, and this picture was next the me all the way there.
I wasn't worried. I understood this sign was telling me that in the event of an emergency I could simply use my heat vision to melt the door before I ripped it off of its hinges.
There were no written instructions to accompany this cryptic drawing, so we are left to our own conclusions.
